S'il a été menacé  par des extrémistes islamistes, dans quel but, s'en prendre à n'importe qui dans la rue, cela m'aurait moins surpris s'il s'en était pris sur des musulmans s'il leur en voulait s'il a été menacé par eux d'où cela me paraît assez étrange que cela serait un attentat chrétien.

Selon la BBC, première à révéler l’information, l’homme était connu du MI5 (les services de renseignement britanniques), qui l’a repéré mi-2019, craignant qu’il ait des projets de voyage à l’étranger« potentiellement dans un but terroriste ». Les services ont finalement considéré qu’il ne présentait pas de risque immédiat. A en croire des sources citées par le Guardian, Khairi Saadallah avait des problèmes de violence et de santé mentale.

Ministers must answer questions over the “quick succession” of lone actor attacks in Britain, the shadow home secretary has said. Responding to a statement from Priti Patel, the home secretary, Nick Thomas-Symonds said it was “heartbreaking” that terrorism was once again being discussed in the House of Commons.

His remarks came after Patel revealed that an unarmed police officer had tackled a suspected terrorist in the midst of a knife attack in Forbury Gardens in Reading on Saturday. The 25-year-old suspect was apprehended at “great speed”, Patel said, as she paid tribute to the bravery of the officers and members of public who intervened.

If confirmed as a terrorist offence, the attack would be the fourth in the UK since November, when Usman Khan killed two people at Fishmongers’ Hall near London Bridge.

There have since been terrorist attacks in Whitemoor prison in January and on Streatham High Street, in the capital, in February. The terrorism threat level remains “substantial”.

urther details have emerged about his past. During the summer of 2018, he volunteered at the Wycliffe Baptist church on Kings Road in Reading. Stewart Johnston, operations manager at the church, said he was not a member of the congregation, but helped with jobs such as stacking chairs and cooking meals for churchgoers.

He said Saadallah volunteered at the church between June and September 2018. “He wouldn’t come every day,” he said. “He came from time to time and helped me.”

The suspect in the Reading attack had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and an emotionally unstable personality disorder, the Guardian understands.
